Our Montessori Moments in Time™ program is the cornerstone of Meridian Senior Living's comprehensive approach to memory care and was developed through extensive research and first-hand experience with our residents throughout the years. We strive every day to integrate purpose and meaningful moments into the lives of our memory care residents through a customized program, honoring our residents and their journey with Alzheimer's or other dementia. Our secure, specialized memory care neighborhood offers spacious private suites in a home-like setting, with supervised access to amenities, and care by our highly trained and compassionate staff.

We provide our memory care residents with a positive and intentional experience at our community. Our Life Engagement programming seeks to reduce agitation and inspire conversation. Understanding resident preferences and past history—their loves, likes, occupations, family members, and more—can help us identify and troubleshoot why a resident may be upset and redirect behaviors to bring moments of joy into social interactions.

Who our residents are and the lives they’ve led are important elements to providing the best care. Yes. Our kitchen is certified by the Vaad HaKashrus, and we are the memory care community in the area that runs a certified kitchen of its own. For observant families in Far Rockaway and the neighborhoods around it, that is usually the deciding factor. If your family does not keep kosher, it is no barrier: everyone eats the same meal, at the same table, at the same time.
Closer than most Queens families assume. We are about 13 minutes from Far Rockaway and roughly 25 to 30 minutes from eastern Queens and the Rockaways, and for many families we are nearer than communities inside the borough itself. Yes, and we would rather do it early than take on someone we cannot serve well. Memory care is all we do, so if what your family needs is assisted living, skilled nursing or post-surgical rehabilitation, we will say so and point you in the right direction. Yes. We offer short-term and respite stays with full access to the apartments, the daily program and care as needed.
