Our Distinctive Programs
A day at Esplanade of Woodmere is a day filled with possibilities. With thoughtful and specialized daily programming that encourages complete whole-body wellness and a dedicated Life Enrichment Coordinator to lead the way, residents can choose from a number of activities that suit their mood. Our monthly community calendars are balanced with activities that stimulate the mind, body and soul and always incorporate valuable opportunities to socialize, whether it be with other neighbors, staff or the outside community.
Individualized Care Rooted in Life Stories
Before a resident even begins participating in programming, our team conducts a comprehensive initial assessment. We meet with residents and their families to learn about:

-
Career paths and lifelong passions
-
Hobbies and favorite pastimes
-
Music preferences
-
Family traditions
-
Spiritual background
-
Daily routines and personal comforts
-
Even the smallest details - like how they take their coffee
These conversations help us understand not only care needs, but what truly brings joy, comfort, and purpose to each individual. From there, we create a customized engagement plan tailored specifically to them.
Programming with Purpose
Our MONTESSORI MOMENTS IN TIME™ memory care program is thoughtfully woven into daily life through five essential pathways that support whole-person wellness:

-
Social Connection – Encouraging meaningful interaction and relationship-building within our community.
-
Multi-Generational Engagement – Creating opportunities to connect with younger generations and the broader community.
-
Cognitive Enrichment – Stimulating the mind through structured activities that promote focus, memory, and problem-solving.
-
Spiritual Support – Honoring faith, reflection, and personal beliefs in ways that bring comfort and grounding.
-
Physical Wellness – Promoting movement, coordination, and overall health through guided physical activities.
By nurturing these five areas, we create a balanced, purposeful lifestyle that enhances quality of life and supports each resident’s continued growth and well-being.
The Difference is Personal
Instead of expecting residents to adapt to a generic schedule, we adapt our programming to them.
This individualized approach helps reduce frustration, fosters dignity, and creates moments of genuine connection. Residents are not simply participating in activities, they are engaging in experiences that feel familiar, purposeful, and personally meaningful.
Why Families Choose Esplanade of Woodmere

We Are Family-Owned & Operated
Warm. Personal. Never Corporate.
We are not a large, cold corporate chain. As a family-owned community, we create an intimate, welcoming environment where residents are known by name and cared for like family. Decisions are made with heart, not bureaucracy, and it shows in everything we do.
Memory Care is Our Only Focus
Specialized Care, Not an Afterthought.
Many communities primarily offer assisted living with a small memory unit in the back. At Esplanade, we offer Memory Care exclusively. Every space, every caregiver, and every program is intentionally designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This singular focus allows us to deliver a higher level of expertise, consistency, and compassionate understanding.

Common questions about memory care at Esplanade
Assisted living supports people who need a hand with daily tasks but are otherwise managing well. Memory care is built for people living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. A lot of communities offer assisted living with a small memory unit at the back. We only do memory care. Every space, every caregiver and every activity here was designed for dementia, which means our team does this all day, every day, rather than some of the time.
It is the thinking behind how we shape each day. Rather than running a fixed schedule, it works through five areas: social connection, time with younger generations, cognitive enrichment, spiritual support and physical wellness. The idea is simple. A day should feel balanced and purposeful rather than just filled.
We ask, before anything else. Our team sits down with you and your parent to learn who they are: the work they did, what they loved, the music they know, family traditions, their faith, how their day used to run. Even the small things, like how they take their coffee. That conversation becomes their engagement plan, and it is theirs alone.
A dedicated Life Enrichment Coordinator plans and leads the day. Our monthly calendars mix activities for the mind, the body and the spirit, and there is always something social in there, because company matters as much as the activity itself.
Strong enough that help is close by throughout the day. Just as important, our team works together. You will not hear anyone here say that something is not their job.
Yes. We run a Vaad Kosher certified dining program, and we are the memory care community in the area that does. If your family does not keep kosher, that is no barrier at all. Plenty of our residents do not, and they enjoy the food just as much.
